Teddington Sub-Aqua Club, a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club, meets every Wednesday evening at Teddington Pool for dive practice, snorkelling and swimming. Training is provided by qualified instructors who are all members of the club.
We have an interesting programme of events that runs throughout the year. Dives range from day or weekend trips to the South Coast to overseas expeditions. Our holiday destinations have included Mexico and the Galapagos Islands, Egypt, Gozo, France, Italy, the Greek Islands, Norway and Scotland.
Our club is small and friendly, and comprises a good mix of both sexes and ages. We meet frequently for social activities with non-diving partners, and we welcome divers already qualified with other agencies.
We have established links with local schools and clubs through our ‘Try Dive’ programme. The ‘Try Dive’ provides children, and adults, the opportunity to experience being underwater using scuba equipment, within the sheltered environment of a pool. If interested, and provided they meet certain health and age criteria, the Try Diver can then join the club and learn to scuba dive with us.
The Club has various key people who help to organise diving, training and social events. The Diving Officer is responsible for the overall safety of diving activity. Each dive is managed by an experienced diver and various other positions help the Club to run smoothly (Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Equipment etc.).
We have our own sets of diving equipment which is used for training/Try Dives. Kit is also available for hire, so there’s no need to buy your own until you get hooked!
