Here at Teddington SAC, we don’t just deal with adults; in the past few weeks we have given try-dives to 22 teenagers and children, introducing them to the techniques we use to explore the underwater world.
We have welcomed students from Turing House school for the past 2 years, and gave been giving scuba lessons to Wendy Dorgan’s Special Needs group at Teddington pool for over 10 years.
The group started the lessons after swimming instructor Wendy noticed her pupils, who have learning and physical disabilities, were fascinated by a diver practising nearby. They have really taken to diving, and many of them return to us year after year.
Here are a few photos of Wendy’s group enjoying their scuba session (please click on them to enlarge them). If you are a teacher and would be interested in bringing some of your pupils down to Teddington Pool for a try-dive, please do get in touch.
Quite a number of our club members now have GoPros, and this is a really great way to remember our diving experiences. Take a look at club member Harjit’s video on YouTube of the dolphins we dived with in El Gouna, in the northern Red Sea. Enjoy! If you’d like to join us for future diving holidays, do get in touch.
